Dharshini

Dharshini is eight years old, and has experienced a great deal of hardship in her family life. Her father would often abuse her mother physically, which frightened Darshini. Her mother had no choice but to run away, raising Darshini by herself. On such a meagre income, this proved extremely taxing, so she sent Dharshini to Cornerstone Children’s Home in 2012, where her older sister, Bhuvaneshwari is also staying.

At the orphanage, Dharshini was able to study, socialize, and grow in a safe and supportive environment. Thanks to Big Hug Foundation and the support of generous volunteers and donors, she now has a chance to fulfil her dream of becoming a teacher. Whilst your support is providing Dharshini with an education, the Big Hug Foundation is working closely with the Cornerstone Trust in India to help improve her mother’s situation.
